The driving forces in my mothers life when I was a child were upward mobility at any price and metaphysics and the occult to explain the world in her favor.

She was involved with The Association For Research and Enlightenment, founded by Edgar Cayce and his son Hugh Lynn and they were a constant presence in our lives. Her closest friend was Ida Marshall, an itinerant clairvoyant who advised the governors Goodwin Knights' wife.
